Reconsidering the Advertising Industry

As announced before, one of the ways to celebrate our 1000 days blog anniversary is the launch of a report in which we reconsider the advertising industry.

Written by Alain Thys and Stefan Kolle, the report dives into the growing disconnect between what advertising agencies offer, and what their clients are looking for. Client needs are consistently ignored. Agency operations are “out of synch” with global business realities. Statements by agency leaders lack authenticity.

Reconsidering The Advertising Industry is a 60-page conversation starter that dissects the challenges of an industry in disarray. Based on this analysis, it offers remedies which agency leaders can apply to future-proof their business. And for visionary executives, ten agency positionings are presented which we believe will have above-average chances of success in the emerging advertising marketplace.

Thank you Alain and Stefan

This report articulates what we've all been thinking for a while now.

Some of us have been doing something about it. At We Are Social we're trying to throw away the baggage of saturation bombing consumers and re-frame what we do in terms of having conversations with and between people. Time will tell if we're getting it right...
